SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2025
1. Nationality / Citizenship
A candidate must be either a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, a subject of Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, etc., with the intention of permanently settling in India.
2. Educational Qualification (as on 01-01-2026)
- For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade 'A' (except specific ministries): Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
- For DEO/DEO Grade 'A' in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture, and SSC: 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
3. Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
The age limit for SSC CHSL is 18 to 27 years. Candidates born not before 02-01-1999 and not later than 01-01-2008 are eligible to apply. Age relaxation is provided to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen) as per Government of India norms.

SSC CHSL Pay Scale & Salary Structure
Selected candidates will be appointed under different Pay Levels as per the 7th Pay Commission, depending on the post. The basic pay includes additional allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA).

The SSC CHSL Tier 1 is a Computer Based Examination (CBE) consisting of Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). It is qualifying in nature.

SSC CHSL Selection Process 2025
The selection of candidates for CHSL posts is done through the following stages:
- Stage 1: Tier 1 (Computer Based Exam) - Objective type MCQs. Qualifying in nature. Minimum qualifying marks: UR (30%), OBC/EWS (25%), All other categories (20%).
- Stage 2: Tier 2 (Computer Based Exam) - Includes Objective MCQs and Skill Test/Typing Test. Merit is prepared based on Tier 2 performance.
- Stage 3: Document Verification (DV) - Shortlisted candidates are required to appear for document verification with their original certificates.
How to Apply for SSC CHSL 2025?

Candidates can voluntarily use Aadhaar Based Biometric Authentication during OTR. Non-Aadhaar candidates must upload valid Name, DOB, Address, and Gender proof documents and must report to the examination centre 2 hours before the scheduled time.
