Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility conditions as on the closing date of the application (29.07.2026):

1. Nationality / Citizenship

The candidate must be either:

• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Nepal, or
• A subject of Bhutan, or
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

2. Educational Qualification

For the post of Technician Grade-III, candidates must possess the following qualification from a recognized Institute:

• Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade.
• (OR) Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA) in the relevant trade.

3. Age Limit (As on 01.07.2026)

For Technician Grade-III, the age limit is 18 to 30 years.

Age relaxations are applicable for Ex-Servicemen (3 to 8 years depending on category), PwBD (10 to 15 years), and serving Railway Group C/D staff. Course Completed Act Apprentices applying for posts requiring ITI/CCAA get relaxation to the extent of apprentice training undergone (maximum 3 years).

Application Fee

The application fee must be paid online through Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Cards, or UPI. Fee Refund: The examination fee will be refunded to the candidate's Aadhaar-seeded bank account upon appearing in the CBT.

Modification Window: 01.08.2026 to 10.08.2026 with a modification fee of ₹ 250/- (non-refundable) per occasion.

Pay Scale & Salary Structure

Selected candidates for the Technician Grade-III post will be appointed under Pay Level 2 of the 7th CPC.

Exam Pattern (CBT)

Selection Process

The selection of candidates for Technician Grade-III happens through the following stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective type MCQs. Normalized marks will be used to shortlist candidates. Qualifying in nature, but higher marks improve chances for the next stage.
2. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates (equal to the number of vacancies) will be called for DV based on CBT merit. Original certificates must be produced.
