Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality & Domicile
A candidate must be a citizen of India. For reservation benefits, the candidate must be a permanent resident/domicile of Uttar Pradesh.
2. Age Limit (as on 1st July 2026)
Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed the age of 40 years (i.e., born not earlier than 2nd July 1986 and not later than 1st July 2005).

3. Educational Qualification
A candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree from any recognized University established by law in India up to the last date for receipt of the application. Final year students are NOT eligible to apply.

Exam Pattern 2026 (Prelims)
The UPPSC Preliminary Examination consists of two compulsory objective-type (MCQ) papers of 200 marks each. Both papers are held on the same day. Only Black Ball Point Pens are allowed on the OMR sheet.

Paper 1: General Studies (150 Qs · 200 Marks)

Selection Process
- Preliminary Exam: Screening test. 15 times the number of total vacancies are shortlisted for Mains based on Paper-I marks.
- Mains Exam: Written descriptive exam comprising 6 General Studies papers, 1 Essay paper, and 1 General Hindi paper (total 1500 marks). Candidates must clear the Hindi paper (qualifying) to be evaluated.
- Interview (Personality Test): 100 marks. 3 times the number of vacancies are called for the interview.
